Since many weddings nowadays are DIY inspired, I worked with wedding coordinator Ying Voong to create a beautiful budget friendly DIY vintage inspiration shoot. Coordinating with some amazing vendors, we worked with light pink tones, lots of lace, and a hint of gold for an amazing shoot at Arlington Garden in Pasadena.
Thank you to all the amazing vendors who helped put this together.

Prior to the shoot, I went with Ying to downtown LA to visit the number one place for cheap crafts... Moskatels (for those of you who don't know, it's a division of Michaels Arts & Crafts). There, we found many things that would fit perfectly with our shoot including the crates, bird cage, suitcases, and crates. We headed to the fashion district to buy the lace and champagne cloth that would line our mason jars and serve as the cover of our table.
Everything from the Mr & Mrs and I love you flags, white cone backdrop, lace shoes, and lace lined mason jars were made entirely by Ying and I for this photo shoot. Working with many random things that we already owned and a tight budget, we pulled off this shoot spending well under $200.
While our original location didn't work out, our team was flexible and quick in finding a hidden gem in Pasadena... Arlington Garden! I have lived in the area my whole life and have never noticed this amazing garden. It provided the perfect setting we were looking for and much more with it's rounded stone wall that served as a backdrop for our shoot.
The nature trails also set a romantic tone for our vintage styled couple Ruby Rose and Ryan Archer. Combined with the roses in her hair and red lips, Ruby was sheer perfection. Ryan also stole the show with his grey suit, plaid bowtie, and boutonniere provided by The Daily Blossom. They made the perfect couple to complete our vision.
With so many DIY tutorials on Pinterest and couples opting for more budget friendly weddings, we wanted to show that it was possible to put together a beautiful vintage wedding at a doable cost.
I'll end this with my absolute favorite picture from the day and one of my favorites from all the shoots I've done in the past year...
Have a wonderful week everyone! Check out more photos at the wedding slihere.
